What's On Tonight (Wednesday): Alakazam alakazoo, The Magicians bids you all adieu

The Magicians (via Giphy)
‎¡Hola! In a night of many streaming options, Top Pick goes to Syfy's The Magicians for a third and final time. I watched the first season, which was quite entertaining, but then it got lost in all my peak TV watch slate. But WOT creator Emily VanDerWerff has been a loud advocate for the show since before its debut, even the latter episodes, which even fandom said the magic had diminished. I watched a bunch of clips today, and I think I love Fen... Ok, I'm putting it on the list of shows I should go back and finish. Elsewhere, Netflix puts Kim's Convenience back in business, spotlights a judicial nightmare, gives Iliza Shlesinger a sketch show, and teases your sweet tooth yet again. Oh, and haircuts at Jay's Chop Shop are back on, PBS' programs spotlight Cuba, Trisha Yearwood and her husband perform a live concert, David Blaine does tricks, Amy Hoggart studies friendships, and I loudly root for Brooke Williamson to win Tournament of Champions. 'Tis a somewhat busy night. ♪ Three thirty in the morning / Not a soul in sight / The city's lookin' like a ghost town / So here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, April 1!

🌺Feed Me: British Scones w homemade Clotted Cream and Jam

Hey Y’all **waving from Self Isolation** 👋🏼

I made this for my son and his gf’s 5th year Anniversary brunch. Clotted cream is very easy to make , but it does take a long time to make (12 hrs). This is a multi recipe post , soft pillowy scones from 15 spatulas and clotted cream from Food Wishes.
The jam recipe was everything I needed to use up in my fruit basket .

Enjoy !

Sportsball, March 30th

I felt guilty when I left the country for a month and thought that damn, I'll miss March Madness and Opening Day and well I watched a bunch of Aussie rules football and soccer played in empty stadiums. It was weirder when they let people in because it just drew attention to the fact that almost no one was there. The completely empty stadiums looked like really angry practice matches. It really drove home just how much personal investment of fans is the engine of sports.

Totally Tunes: A Taste of Argentina

So, Argentina. Land of the mate, tango, wives of Michael Bublé, dulce de leche, pretty places you can visit (and get mugged in... experience combo!), cokehead footballers, meme-worthy politicians, and yours truly. One thing I noticed while perusing all these not-very-Argentinian communities is that most people aren't well versed on our culture. We argies do know YOUR anglo culture, even the UK one and that's considering there's this one big historical event that puts us at odds with the Brits, but y'all know so very little about us!

That guy most likely got mugged minutes after this pic was taken. Via Pexels

So here am I today, using this little soap box to give you a taste of Argentinian music. It's not much, and it's not a primer either, just a few artists and tunes you can use to totally brag to your friends and potential Tinder matches that you're "a cultural person". Let's begin with one of our biggest bands here, so big that companies are still cashing in on them even when the singer died a few years back:

What's On Tonight (Sunday): Turn on your notifications because God has a request

God Friended Me (via Giphy)
Hello all you earthly commoners. Tonight, we turn on our social media notifications and await the Almighty to send us that friend request. Yes, it's God Friended Me, last season's Cancellation League favorite that ended up getting a tap on the heart button from CBS. The show is about atheist podcaster (is there any other kind?) Miles, who is friends with God on Facebook. That God account connects Miles with other people who need help. There is also his now-girlfriend Cara, his sister Ali, and friend Rakesh, among others. Tonight's episode includes guest star Amy Acker, a favorite of these parts. Elsewhere, the Midwives have been called back, Elton hosts a music special while Garth gets an award, Tim and Eric present their latest series, good guys and bad guys deal with some Hilltop aftermath, and the Regulator Rebellion rages. In 1953, the aliens started taking over the world. Today, they're taking over our bodies. Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, March 29!

What's On Tonight (Saturday): There's a new Force of Danger in town

Danger Force (via Giphy)
Hello all you home-bodies. It is yet another quiet Saturday night with few scripted offerings. The lone premiere is the Henry Danger spinoff Danger Force. I know, I know. I pick Nickelodeon shows too often... this is the sixth time this season. But there aren't many options! In this new tween show, Henry Danger is gone, but Captain Man picks up a small team of young newbies to train. Elsewhere, the West Memphis Three case gets documentary treatment, Det. Murdoch concludes his season, Dylan goes to school, Will Robinson wakes up a princess, and gangster wives prove their worth. Would you like a jelly baby, here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, March 28!

What's On Tonight (Thursday): The Sinner Sins One Last Time On Its Season 'Sin'ale.

Get it? Get it? Sinale--cause Sin? (waves hand) Ahhhh I know its dumb. There are a ton of shows finishing up their runs tonight and I had a difficult time deciding which to give the top pick status to--but I went with literally the only one that hadn't had it previously this season, but the other shows all finishing their respective seasons tonight include Picard, Deputy, A Million Little Things, and Outmatched. (I was thiiiiis close to making it a co-top pick between Deputy and A Million Little Things since i actually watch those shows, but you gotta give it to the show that hasn't had it yet I guess--Deputy will be missed if that doesn't come back and its kinda unlikely it will cause ratings have been sluggish, but you never know!!!!)

What's On Tonight (Wednesday): Rapper Lil Dicky is Dave from suburbia

Dave (via Giphy)
Hello all you TV viewers! The pickings are a little slim until 10 p.m. when your options balloon. Among those options is Dave, the weird but entertaining FXX comedy about up-and-coming rapper Lil Dicky, who is playing a fictionalized version of himself. He has a girlfriend, a close circle of friends, and is a great rapper, but he is neurotic and has trouble expressing himself and being honest. Such traits make it hard to break into the music business. The show has found a good balance of Dave and the much more relatable ensemble. Elsewhere, Queens resident Nora, inspector Rabbit, and private eye Dex go into quarantine until next season, Michael Curtiz and Casablanca get movie treatment, Halsey & Kelsea Ballerini sing songs, eating old food is now a show, PBS profiles the planet's wonders, and Discovery Channel does a deep dive on COVID-19. Of all the WOTs on all the websites on all the internets, you decide to read mine, here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, March 25!

I thought I had the Africa trip down. Then they canceled Madagascar on me and I didn't have a fit about missing the lemurs and all the other wildlife that is only in Madagascar because Madagascar is weird. It separated from the African mainland forever ago sort of like India except it didn't floating off to bump into Asia and create the Himalayas. Instead it's a world on its own.

So what does he come up with instead? Zimbabwe.

Hmm.

Robert Mugabe was a bona fide hero and took his country out from under European colonialism (Bye Betty!) and into independence. And then dependence. And then despotism. And he wouldn't go away. And every year he came up with another horrible way of holding on to power. And by the end of his exceedingly long career that meant demonizing white people and gay people. I'm two of those things. Wish me luck!

Why are we here? The largest waterfall in the world of course.

Totally Tunes: Screw This, I'm Gonna Get Happy

This world sucks. No, but seriously. I mean, have you seen the state of the world right now? Wildly contagious and very dangerous diseases, inept politicians, rampant crime, hunger, poverty, discrimination, you name it and Earth has it. It's no bueno. But you know what Earth also has? Good shit. Sunsets, puppies and kittens, kids who stare in awe at a bubble, silly jokes, you name it. So, at least for today, and for the duration of this article, we're gonna bring in HAPPINESS.

Photo via Pexels

Thing is, I don't know how to convey happiness through music? I mean, there are songs about happiness, there are bouncy songs, and there are weird tunes that make individual people happy. But I'll do my best and add some videos that I think anyone can play and feel joyous for at least a few minutes.
