Also worth noting--Netflix's "One Day At A Time" reboot officially launches its 4th season tonight but now on POP!; FBI has a cross-over with FBI's Most Wanted (only on CBS); and the terribly named "Council of Dads" premieres. This is What's On for March 24th 2020
8:00
NCIS (CBS): The body of a well regarded Navy technician is found floating in a lake not far from where a popular community event is taking place; Sloane's daughter makes an unexpected request. (I'm guessing these two plotlines are not connected at all--it'd be kinda odd if they were right?)
Ellen's Game of Games (NBC): "Bye Bye Miss American Pumpkin Pie" (shakes head)
The Resident (FOX): Cain (that's Morris Chestnut) recruits Ezra to help keep an emergency situation (a situation that he unwittingly caused at the end of last week's episode) under wraps (it involves toxic mold spreading thru the hospital); Nic works to come up with a support system for a patient in need of a lung transplant; Kit's son in law's condition continues to worsen. (Toxic Mold!!!!....A Not Nice Morris Chestnut!!!...The Resident!!!)
The Conners (ABC): Harris is newly unemployed, depressed, and moves back into the house (Oh Joy!); Becky struggles to find affordable child care so Jackie suggests that she reach out to Emilio's family for some support; The family contemplates tattoos. (like to get or just tattoos in general???)
The Flash (The CW): Rerun of the Sue Dearborn episode. (Hey i saw this one! It was pretty good!)
East Lake Meadows-A Public Housing Story (PBS): Two hour documentary chronicling the residents of Atlanta's public housing complex which reveals hardships and resilience raising questions about poverty, race, and who is deserving of assistance. (Everybody? Is the answer everybody?)
Be Natural-The Untold Work of Alice Guy-Blanche (TCM): Normally i leave TCM to TCM Guy (aka Sillstaw) but i thought i should note the premiere of this 2018 documentary about the life and times of the first ever female director. (I thought it looked interesting!)
Royal Matchmaker (Hallmark Channel): Your Hallmark Channel Movie of the night is this one where "A matchmaker realizes that she's the best match for a prince whom has tasked her with finding him a match" (Of course she did!) Starring Bethany Joy Lenz and Will Kemp
8:30
Bless This Mess (ABC): When Rio jokes about Mike's lack of follow thru when it comes to hobbies and projects, Mike sets out to prove her wrong; Constance struggles to end her romantic endeavors with Pastor Paul. (Geoffery Owens is back!!!)
9:00
FBI (CBS): Jess LeCroix and his most wanted team come to help aid the FBI's hunt for a fugitive that he had arrested years ago after a bus with 26 students goes missing and he ends up being the main suspect. (Crossover! Crossover! Crossover!)
This Is Us (NBC): Top Pick tonight goes to this drama as "The Pearson family gathers to celebrate baby Jack's first ever birthday." (Meanwhile the show says audios for the season, making it a wrap on season 4--but fear not because the show is under contract for 2 more seasons with the network so they'll be back--most likely on the same night and time as well) (most likely!)
Empire (FOX): While on a road trip, Cookie and her two sisters Candace and Carol take a painful trip down memory lane; Luscious uses something special from his past to help give Yana her big break; and Teri becomes increasingly fearful of Andre. (Well that makes sense as Andre isn't exactly himself right now--since he's like now possessed by the ghost of Kingsley--tho I feel like its more Andre's version of Kingsley rather than like the actual ghost of Kingsley himself) (No wonder the show is in its final season--they're doing an honest to goodness possession plotline!)
Mixed-ish (ABC): After helping a friend with mono, Rainbow becomes interested in the medical field; Alice fibs to Paul about getting a flu shot; Johan and Santamonica go to lunch with Harrison.(Mono huh?)
Legends of Tomorrow (The CW): Rerun of the Marie Antoinette episode from last month. (I guess i really should've made it top pick last week but Mixed-ish!!!!)
Schitt's Creek (POP): Johnny, Steve, and Roland head to NY for their pitch meeting; the family anxiously awaits their return to find out how it went. (makes sense to me)
Curse of Oak Island (History): New analysis connects man made activity in the swamp to the creation of the Money Pit just as the team begins their most ambitious and expensive operation yet. (shrugs)
Chopped (FOOD): A chocolate covered seafood snack is in the first basket, and a tart fruit which is also a Japanese stale is in the entree basket. (nods)
Moonshiners (Discovery): Tickle introduces his new bride to everyone while unfinished business needs to be taken care of by Mark and Diggle. (Props to Tickle--if HE can find love then truly anyone can!)
Gomer Pyle (MeTV): South American general Cortez looks up some old friends and falls for Gomer's girlfriend Bunny. (Shazam???)
9:30
Black-ish (ABC): Drew is guillted into volunteering at Jack and Diane's school carnival; Rainbow makes an appointment for Junior to get his flu shit, but Ruby opposes this for some inexplicable reason. (A little story about Jack and Diane, two American kids having a school carnival!) (I tried)
One Day At A Time (POP): This former Netflix show migrates to basic cable (after Netflix cancelled it and Pop--a division of CBS CBS CBS--came to its rescue, rescue, rescue) Tonight season 4 (!!!) kicks off with "After a census taker comes to the home, the Alvarez family thinks on their relationships and what else the future may or may not have in store" (It has a new network in store!)
Green Acres (MeTV): :Lisa goes to the high school to take some home ec classes and causes a ruckus. (A Ruckus They Says!!!)
10:00
FBI Most Wanted (CBS): The Most Wanted team (actually The Fugitive Apprension Task-Force--or F.A.T) searches for the wife of a terrorist that they have captured fearing that the wife is intent on carrying out the terrorist's plans; LaCroix's daughter is taken into custody by ICE (which I gotta imagine angers LaCroix who also works for the same government that ICE works for!)
Council of Dads (NBC): Brand new drama debuts tonight--The Perry family bands together when Scott Perry has a health crisis; Scott cooks up a plan to create a "council of dads" so that there will be a family to care for his loved ones when he is gone. (Starring Tom Everett Scott and Sarah Wayne Calles)
For Life (ABC): Aaron confronts O'Reilly in court; Mark's father comes to town intent on encouraging her and Darius to solidify their relationship; Masry arranges for a dangerous inmate to be transferred to Bellmore. (Sounds like some things are a-happening here tonight!)
Frontline (PBS): "NRA Under Fire"---How the NRA aligned with President Trump (who???) but faces challenges from all sides as the 2020 election looms nearby. (Does PBS doing an hour profile of the current troubles the NRA faces count as irony???)
Project Blue Book (History): The current season of this historical recreation show comes to a close tonight with "Operation Mainbrace" (It being a regular Tuesday staple of the past several months, I felt like i should try to wedge it in for a Top Pick status at least once before it ended) (Viva Neil McDonough! Viva!)
Hot Ones-The Game Show (Tru TV): Cocky sisters challenge a pair of bros in the Pepperdome, but the sauce proves too hot to handle for one of the teams resulting in a TKO (Oooook)
.
Supermarket Stakeout (Food)
10:30
Miracle Workers-Dark Ages (TBS): Al and Prince Chauncley make big plans for the future in part 1 of the show's 2 part season finale (i think)
THAT'S ALL I GOT FOR TONIGHT---EVERYBODY DANCE NOW!!!!
