This week's Notable Opening Nights spotlight is on The Act, which opened Oct. 29, 1977, at the Majestic. I'm not feeling up for longform writing, so it's another week of capsule commentaries. Sorry, Liza.

Booyakasha! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, October 28!
Our Top Pick tonight is the penultimate episode of Brothers (Apple TV, midnight). This comedy reunited detective actors Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey as fictional versions of themselves who learn they might be brothers. I think the plot sounds dumb.
Elsewhere, Ali G gets a movie, da Baby's mama wants more, the FBI goes into the Fire, our size and shape is of Evolution, Abbott gets into spooky season, South Park has some beef, and Jost and Che have a final answer.

Today is the Catrinas Parade. We'll see how long my Zoloft lasts. I will not get my face painted. I will watch in wonder at all those who do. I have extra people to talk to these days of the dead. I haven't let Lisa go yet. My dad will always be complicated and the same with Jeff. Jerry and Bill are more sad than anything. Tommy is deep sadness and extreme anger. There's a lot to release and this is time for it. Maybe this year will finally be the time that I forgive Tim for shutting me out from his death.
I have also been tasked with providing background on Jay who was taken from me on the same day as Tim. I would love to pass on this but it's important. I am the best witness to a life that needs to be remembered.
ETA: Painted.
