Tonight's Top Pick is the 14th season premiere of Futurama, happening at 12:01 a.m. on Hulu. This is at least the third time I've made Futurama a Top Pick, which is funny since I'm merely okay with the show. Minus, of course, the big two tearjerker episodes.

Our Top Pick tonight is the season premiere of The Librarians: The Next Chapter (TNT, 9 p.m.). The first Librarians, a spin-off of a series of TV movies, was silly low-budget fantasy about saving mysterious, ancient artifacts that had it had its moments -- and was aided by good casting with familiar faces. This sequel series, with a new team led by the Librarian of 1847 after his release from imprisonment, is mostly low-budget fantasy. I presume if you have a fantasy itch that needs scratching, this series will be serviceable.
Elsewhere, Lioness is still a thing, Dead City holds old enemies, CNN revisits the Decades in Sports, a Little Girl might not be a fake, the President handles a dead Nessie.

Our Top Pick tonight is Eons: Life and Death on Pangea (PBS App & PBS.org & YouTube, 2 p.m.). This new docuseries comes from PBS Digital Studios, an arm that might not be familiar to many but is one of the booming places in PBS' portfolio. Eons presents short-form episodes on the history of life on Earth. Now, the team has produced a 6-episode TV show. It premieres across PBS' platforms in the afternoon and will air in the evenings tonight and future evenings on some PBS stations. Don't expect the glitz and glam of a BBC Natural History Unit show, but the 4 rotating hosts are highly engaging.
