What's On Tonight (Wednesday): All aboard the Infinity Train

Infinity Train, Book 2 (via Tumblr)
Hey-O! Tonight, hop on the Infinity Train for season two. It is a new story spotlighting the brief but pivital season one character Mirror Tulip ("MT"). She is a supposed criminal on the run from authorities and helping new train passenger Jesse navigate the train. And then there's the weird silent (and a little magical?) deer, Alan Dracula, who is fascinating. Elsewhere, The Gulf wraps up, lots of broadcast programming returns, doggos compete to be the best, the minds of criminals is back, and the Party of Five remake is here! What is the greatest Jeopardy player of all time, here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, January 8!

💻 STREAMING

Cheer (Netflix, 3 a.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. Go inside the world of competitive cheerleading in this new docuseries. Nicely timed with Dare Me currently airing, too.✔️

Glad You Asked (YouTube, 3 a.m.): FINALE. Vox's series that answers questions which someone asked.

The Gulf (Sundance Now, 3 a.m.): FINALE. The investigation finally falls into place and Harding steps up. Ruby has the final piece of the puzzle, but someone else knows Jess's secret.

Wisting (Sundance Now, 3 a.m.): Line's obsession with the Viggo case leads to a fight with her father Wisting. With the press hot on their heels, Wisting and the FBI discovers more corps, as pressure mounts to catch the serial killer.

FOR THE RECORDThe Circle (Netflix, 3 a.m.)

EARLY PRIMETIME

⭐ Infinity Train (Cartoon Network, 7:30 p.m.): Mirror Tulip and Jesse gain an unexpected companion. Later, Mirror Tulip and Jesse enter a carnival car and have to compete for the exit. This second season is still excellent with likely more questions than answers given that MT and Jesse have backstories developing in every episode. MT is on the run from the law and Jesse has some family issues. And of course they are personality opposites. Also, that deer. WHAT IS IT?!

Jeopardy! ðŸ’² (Syndicated, check your local listings): Karen Farrell is gone. Sad face. Can Lisa survive a second day?

Trulli Tales (Nick Jr, 6 p.m.): Alert the kiddos! When Ring, Stella and Sun join a new student for the school omelette challenge, Zip becomes jealous. Later, Stella finds it hard to please everyone when she bakes a cake for a contest.

FOR THE RECORDCatch 21 ðŸ’² (Game Show Network, 6 p.m.); Married at First Sight: Unfiltered (Lifetime, 7:30 p.m.)

🕗 EASTERN / 🕖 CENTRAL

Chicago Med (NBC, 8 p.m.): Dr. Halstead's world is turned upside down when a former patient resurfaces... to take over the hospital?! April has a secret she considers confessing to Ethan. Dr. Charles tries to maintain his focus during a difficult time.

Flirty Dancing (Fox, 8 p.m.): Tonight's dancers in this Cancellation League favorite are Anna and Ted, so I'm picturing Anna Kendrick and Ted Mosby.

Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time ðŸ’² (ABC, 8 p.m.): Ken, James, and Brad, day two.✔️

Nature (PBS, 8 p.m.): Filmmaker Tom Mustill, the whale detective, returns to California to investigate whales after a 30-ton humpback whale breached and landed on his sea kayak in 2015.

America's Top Dog (A&E, 9 p.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. It's a competition series, but for doggos. The first contestants include a veteran police dog, a police dog, and a trick dog. As far as I'm concerned, these dogs aren't Cheddar. They're just some common bitches.✔️

Chicago Fire (NBC, 9 p.m.): Members of Firehouse 51 are dismayed to learn their boundaries have been redrawn to overlap with an adjacent station, and problems quickly arise as the other tries to take over the fire station!! Meanwhile, Casey and Gallo hunt a missing piece of equipment.

Alex's company puts her up at a new luxury apartment building with a number of high-profile residents that the family is eager to take advantage of. Phil is on a mission to review the restaurant's famous sliders for his food blog. Bloggers. [*eyeroll*]

The Oval (BET, 9 p.m.): Victoria plays games of manipulation with White House staffers that make them choose alliances carefully.

Party of Five (Freeform, 9 p.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. In the two-hour opening premiere (and remake of the really good and culturally popular Fox '90s drama), when ICE deports their parents, life for the five Acosta siblings is turned upside down. Oldest son Emilio puts his music career on hold to move back home and take care of his siblings. Let the part begin! After their deportation, Emilio struggles to adapt to his new responsibilities as primary caretaker for his siblings.✔️
