(nods) Lincoln Rhyme Man---Talkin' Bone Collecting! Bone Collecting Yo--Lets Collect Them Bones--Where Them Bones At??? My Man Lincoln Rhyme Knows--That's For Damn Sure!!! This is What's On for January 10th 2020. (I almost said this is What's On for January 10th, 1997--and then i quickly realized that it is not 1997--could you imagine if it was tho? That'd be weird right?)
Streaming:
Netflix (as usual) has a plethora of new streaming options starting today including a new show starring RuPaul called AJ and the King. "While traveling across the country in a run down RV, drag queen Ruby Red discovers an unlikely sidekick in AJ-a tough talking 10 year old" (So its kind of like Cop And A Half then??? Drag Queen And A Half!!!) This show was created and exec produced by Michael Patrick King who is of course most famous for being the main guy behind Sex and the City for many years (as well as their movies) however the last show he created and exec produced that actually made it to air was um 2 Broke Girls soooo....on the other hand he was also the creator and exec producer of The Comeback--sooo i guess your guess is as good as mine as to what the quality of this will be like.
Netflix also has a new series called "Medical Police" which is from the people behind Children's Hospital (Rob Corddry and Erin Haynes) Because Corddry is tied up co-starring on CBS's The Unicorn, he's apparently not in front of the cameras on this one leaving the starring duties to Haynes, Malin Akerman (ooh), Rob Huebel (The synopsis says that its actually a spin-off of Children's Hospital with the various characters from that show leaving the hospital to join a secret arm of the CDC) (Ooook)
Netflix also has a new BBC produced show called Giri/Haji which is about "A Tokyo lawman goes to London to find his assassin for the Yakuza brother before mob wars threaten to engulf Tokyo" Kelly McDonald is somehow involved in all of this as her name is listed in the credits!
Netflix also has the latest season (4 apparently) of a show i've never heard of before called The Harvey Street Kids which is apparently an animated show from comedian Lauren Lapkus (whom i never knew had her own show before) (Oh wait its based on an already existing comic book series that Lapkus provides the voice for, so its not actually from her)
Netflix also has season two of a kids show called The Inbestigators. (that title!)
As well as a French doc called Until Dawn (which looks a lot like France's equivalent to "Last Comic Standing")And a new Indian crime series (i believe in Hindi) called Jamtara ("a group of young men run a phishing operation until they come across a politician who wants in on their scam and a cop who wants to shut them down") (Jeesus Netflix has a lot of crap here--its almost like they're insecure about not being the only streaming game in town now so they're trying to make up for it thru sheer quantity)
Apple TV has its usual weekly new offerings of The Servant and Truth Be Told
Disney Plus has its usual weekly new offerings of The World According To Jeff Goldblum, Marvel's Hero Project, and High School Musical The Series--which is having its very first season finale!
Broadcast
8:00
Hawaii 5-0 (CBS): Grover and the team investigate a murder at a private golf course involving a man who was frozen to death in the locker room's cryotherapy chamber; McGarrett tags along with Danny when he tracks down the father of the boy bullying his son Charlie. (I completely forgot that Danny had a son, I know he has a daughter, but the son came waaaay later) (Also cryotherapy chamber...in a golf course????)
Lincoln Rhyme-Hunt for the Bone Collector (NBC): The long awaited tv adaptation of the 1999 Denzel Washington/Angelina Jolie movie finally premieres tonight in the best possible timeslot for a tv show to premiere in--Who wouldn't wanna air on Fridays at 8 in this day and age??? (Seriously if NBC believed in this thing, they'd be saving it to air on Mondays after The Voice when that starts its next cycle in February, not burying it on Fridays in January!) Anyways for those of you who need a plot synopsis "3 years after the titular detective had his career ended by "The Bone Collector" he teams up with Amelia Sachs to hunt the killer down after it looks like the fair killer is back in action" (That could've totally been a sequel subtitle had a sequel ever gotten made--The Bone Collector 2: Back In Action.) (2 Bone 2 Collector) (shakes head) Starring Russell Hornsby and Arielle Kebbel. Also Micahel Imperioli Brooke Lyons, Brian F O'Byrne, and Claire Coffee is in this as well (making this a little bit of a Grimm reunion since both Hornsby and Coffee were both regulars on that show)
American Housewife (ABC): Against the mighty weight of Lincoln Rhyme--the ABC sitcoms tonight have opted for another week of reruns. (I don't blame them--i mean The Bone Collector!!!!) The Housewife de los estados unidos has Katie and Greg looking for some activities to try together as a couple (didn't Last Man Standing just do this very plotline? I swear i wrote this very synopsis for that show just last night!; Anna Kat struggles at learning how to square dance.
Friday Night Smackdown (FOX): Once again, Smackdowns are given out, passed out, and handed around. (Same as it ever was)
Penn and Teller Fool Us (The CW): Rerun!
A Royal Winter (Hallmark): A Royal Winter????

Magnum PI (CBS): Mags and T.C. go undercover as efficiency experts when a corporate manager is murdered and everyone in the office is a suspect. (Dun Dun Dunnn); Rick is curious why Higgins faked an injury to prevent her from investigating the case alongside Magsykins. (I'm toying with nicknames here so i don't have to keep typing out Magnum multiple times per plot synopsis) (We Love You Magnum!!!)
Dateline (NBC): When a woman is abducted during her evening shift at a gift shop, her family keeps the case in the public eye for decades until investigators manage to somehow solve it. (Somehow???)
20/20 (ABC): New interview with Pamela Smart who talks about her involvement in the 1990 murder of her husband. (Why is 20/20 doing this???)
Whose Line (The CW): Back to back reruns from July, the first one features Dynasty's Elizabeth Gilles. (ooh!)
Country Music (PBS): Part 2 of the Ken Burns Doc reruns tonight! Please prepare accordingly.
Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives (Food): A Cuban joint in LA uses plantains instead of bread, and stuffs avocado with fresh fish; exploring Jackfruit tacos in Park City, Utah. (Jackfruit???)
Gomer Pyle (MeTV): A pair of ambulance chasing lawyers try to convince Gomer and Sgt. Carter to press a false damage suit. (Shazam Sgt Carter???)
9:30
Green Acres (MeTV): An increased tax burden forces Hooterville to secede from the state. (Hey now i know where that episode of The Simpsons came from--you know the one where they split into East Springfield and West Springfield because they don't like having to learn a new area code? What? Its practically the same thing!)
10:00
Blue Bloods (CBS): A widow blames Frank for her husband's recent suicide (whoa); Eddie has a gut feeling about a murder case; a desperate Luis DelGado (Lou Diamond Phillips Is Back!!!!) wants protection for his sons. (CBS! CBS! CBS!)
