Politics Corner, January 6th

We're not leaving Iraq. Which is funny because we keep saying that we're not in Iraq. And we've been asked to leave. And we're starting a war next door in Iran, And Iraq would really like us to not bring that war into Iraq. [Reuters]

After unofficially declaring war against Iran, the US has now barred the Irani Foreign Minister access to the United Nations. Didn't we learn back in Junior High that if we want people to think we're innocent that it won't help if we try to stop Becky from telling her side of the story? [Foreign Policy]

Speaking of Iraq. There's a big reason they don't want us to bring another war there. Our troops can be well behaved as far as war machines go. It's all those mercenaries that come with. And why do they all seem to be related to Betsy DeVos? We're looking at Venezuela these days. [AP]

Why all these foreign adventures? Like nearly all the US's foreign adventures it's to cover up domestic misadventures. This time tied up with foreign misadventures. We've got another document dump and this time newly unredacted Ukraine docs will be buried under war news about Iran. [Just Security]

Now that John Bolton is getting his dearest wish (war with Iran) he's willing to testify. Or say he's willing to testify. Or just get attention. One of those. {Politico]

Now Trump wants the trial over and out of the way (and Graham is willing to break the Constitution to make it happen). [ABC]
