DD1, $1,000 - TALES OF THE CITY - "Anna Karenina": these 2 cities about 400 miles apart (Very early in the game, Karen named one but not the other very famous city, losing the table limit of $1,000.)

DD2, $1,200 - THE AGE OF EXPLORATION - Stories of cannibals & courtesans, Kublai Khan & Prester John abound in this explorer's circa 1300 "Travels" (Karen won $2,000 from her score of $9,600 vs. $6,400 for Kristin.)

DD3, $2,000 - 3-NAMED PEOPLE - This inventor was one of the founders of the National Geographic Society & succeeded his father-in-law as its president in 1898 (Karen won $3,000 from her total of $14,000 vs. $8,000 for Kristin.)

FJ - 1960s NOVELS - This book defines its own title as "concern for one's safety in the face of dangers...was the process of a rational mind"

Only Karen was correct on FJ, winning with $19,800 for an eight-day total of $159,603.

Triple Stumpers of the day: The players couldn't attribute a witty quote from an Irish dramatist to Shaw, and didn't know the 1609 explorer whose name is on a lake between Vermont and New York is Champlain.

Correct Qs:
DD1 - What are St. Petersburg and Moscow?
DD2 - Who was Marco Polo?
