Hello one and all---Here is what's on the telly for November 22nd 2019
Streaming:
Amazon has a intriguing new British import called The Feed which is about "In near future London, a man invents a brain implant device that allows people to instantly share thoughts and emotions; However when the tech falls into the wrong hands (naturally), users start to become murderous" David Thewlis is apparently in it which answers the question of where he'd been as of late.
They also have the movie "Brittney Runs A Marathon" on tap which was a feel good art house film that played here back in August/September and its supposed to be pretty good. (Jillian Bell tired of being out of shape, tries to get herself in shape enough to run a marathon--Rel is also in it--REL!)
Netflix meanwhile has the new Dolly Parton Anthology series set to debut. (that's not something you read every day!) "HEARTSTRINGS" is a new anthology show where every episode will apparently be based on the lyrics to one of her songs (which I guess could work??? Can you imagine if this is successful enough that other singer/songwriters with a long catalog would wanna get in on this??? I could actually see Elton John doing something like this now that i'm thinking on it)
Among other new offerings Netflix is also premiering tonight, they have a new Brazilian series called "Nobody's Looking" ("A new guardian angel uncovers a secret behind the new Angels System Bureaucracy that leads him to break its rules about officially protecting humans")
A new reality show called "Singapore Social" about three socialites in Singapore who try to balance their families with their careers (what careers, i thought they were socialites)
A French movie called "Mon Frere" (which translates to "Brother") and is about "Thrust from a violent home into a brutal custody center, a teenager must learn to fend for himself and forge unlikely new alliances" (Pass)
They also have a new anime show called Dino Girl Gauko (Whenever a middle schooled aged girl gets angry, she literally transforms into a dinosaur!) (So its The Hulk but Dino Hulk???)
season 3 of something called "The Dragon Prince" and season 8 of "Trolls: The Beat Goes On" (???)
Broadcast:
Hawaii 5-0 (CBS): Junior and Tani take down the thief who robbed his parent's house; 5-0 investigates the murder of a beloved philanthropist and the theft of his valuable koa tree; Danny moves in with McGarrett. (Didn't they already have a string of eps where Danny was crashing on his couch like way back in one of the earlier seasons??? Also the 5-0 task force is asked to locate a missing tree may be a sign that the series is running out of ideas, unless the tree turns out to be like entirely made out of heroin or something--which i wouldn't put past the writers honestly!)
The Blacklist (NBC): Desperate for info about the whereabouts of an old friend, Red directs the Task Force to find a Blacklister who specializes in untraceable money transfers; Liz receives some disturbing news from her daughter Agnes. (That Old Friend??? That's Right...You Guessed It...Frank Stallone!!!!)
American Housewife (ABC): Katie's feud with Chloe Brown Mueller is reignited when Oliver discovers her attempts to sabotage Katie's lasagna business; Anna Kat and Franklin play matchmaker for Principal Amblin in an attempt to secure more privileges at school. (Oh Noo...Not Chloe Brown Mueller--played by Jessica St. Clair)
WWE Friday Night Smackdown (FOX): More Smacks Are Handed Down---Is there ever an episode of this where NO smacks are handed down??? I'm just asking.
Charmed (The CW): Harry and Macy make a startling discovery; Maggie teams up with Abby against an unlikely foe; Mel must save Kat from an uncertain future. (That unlikely foe??? That's right you guessed it...Frank Stallone!!!) (I couldn't help it--it was right there!)
Raven's Home (Disney): When Raven and Chelsea go on a weekend getaway to celebrate their friend-iversary, the kids are left at home in the care of both Devon and Garrett in "Sorry To Father You" (ha?)
Ultimate Turkey Fest (Food): This is actually an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, (and a rerun at that) but its all about Thanksgiving turkey--there's Turducken, turkey shaped bread, a complete turkey dinner fried into bite sized balls (no comment) and leftover turkey sandwiches
The Magical Christmas Shoes (Lifetime): This premiere Lifetime Movie Event has as its plot "A pair of magical shoes skip into Kayla Hummel's holiday season, allowing her to rediscover her Christmas spirit and find love again" Starring Erin Karplunk and Damon Runyan. (Wha???)
8:30
Fresh Off the Boat (ABC): Jessica schedules mandatory family time with Eddie, Emery, and Evan; Louis is set on taking Honey's blog to the next level landing her a spot on Good Morning Orlando. (nods)
Just Roll With It (Disney): The Bennett/Blats are invited to be contestants on Family Squabbles--a game show that tests a family's knowledge of one another. (I feel like a real live version of this game show would be pretty successful as my 7 year old nephew is always quizzing me about how much i know about him)
9:00
Magnum P. I. (CBS):A guilt ridden Magnum follows the clues his P.I. friends left behind when he was shot while working on a case that Magnum had passed off to him; TC helps Kumu lead a protest against construction on a Hawaiian sacred site. (Oh that Magnum--always feeling guilty whenever something bad happens to someone he vaguely knows...)
Dateline (NBC)
20/20 (ABC):
Dynasty (The CW): As the family prepares for their Thanksgiving celebration, Blake ask that Adam and Cristal put an end to their constant bickering; Fallon focuses on her new project; Culhane wants Dominique to disclose important info (Of course he does!) (ITS A THANKSGIVING DYNASTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Great Performances (PBS): "Much Ado About Nothing" This Shakespeare play was performed over the summer at Central Park's annual Shakespeare In the Park production. This production starred Danielle Brooks and Grantham Coleman. (I actually saw a production of Much Ado there in 2014 that had Hamish Linklatter, Lily Rabe, and John Pankow--so I was surprised that they had put it on again only 5 years later cause it usually takes longer to cycle thru various re-stagings)
Ancient Aliens (History): All it said was "Countdown To Disclosure" So i can only speculate on what that means.
Gabby Dunn and the Unsittables (Disney): Dia de la Dina is coming and Gabby is determined to get her mom a gift that makes up for last year's disaster; Swift prepares for the end of his assignment on Planet Earth. (Day of the Dina???)
Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives (Food): An Italian spot with an Alaskan twist pairing pappartelle with king crab in Juneau Alaska; a classic deli cooking modern tastes like duck pierogies in Richmond VA; and a sausage sandwich with banana in Ottawa Canada. (Sausage And Banana?!?!?!?)
Ready For War (Showtime): This 2019 documentary is about immigrants who serve in the U.S. military find themselves deported once their tour of duty is over. (I'm wondering if they can get out of getting deported by re-enlisting now--that would seem to be a loophole right?)
Gold Rush (Discovery) Motherlode Mountains
9:30
Green Acres (MeTV): Oliver tries to plant corn with the misguided help of Lisa and Eb, but only finds trouble. (Finds trouble out in the cornfields???)
10:00
Blue Bloods (CBS): Erin disagrees with a psychiatric consultant's diagnosis of a nanny accused of murder; Eddie confronts her boss; Frank is forced to make staffing changes he is skeptical about; and a woman claims she overheard someone plotting a murder. (4 plotlines tonight?!?!?!? usually its 3!!!)
Van Helsing (Syfy): "There's No I In Team" In a flashback of "the rising" Jack and her archers battle vampires that are taking over the city. (This probably doesn't end well for Jack or her archers since the series is literally about life in a post vampire apocalypse--soooo you know, probably not ideal for the ones fighting off the vampires there.)
In Search Of (History): In a hunt for eyewitnesses to large scale otherwordly encounters, the team probes thru decalssified government data on UFO's in airspace and tests a brand new theory which may decipher an alien message that has already been received. (That alien message??? "Ack, Ack, Ack!") (That was a "Mars Attacks!" reference btw)
Ghost Nation (Travel): Ghosts From the Battlefield---investigating a haunted property near Gettysburg, PA (Serious question here--Does Travel Channel ever air anything that's not people hunting down paranormal activity anymore???? When did it become all haunted properties all the time???)
11:00
Comedy Central Stand Up Presents (Comedy Central): At 11 o'clock---Charles Gould
At 11:30---Sara Schaefer
Room 104 (HBO): In the weekly installment of HBO's anthology series--"A young woman sells her soul to live a life of earthly pleasures and is forced to reckon with her decision decades later." Directed by Patrick Brice.
HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND YOUS GUYS!!!! DON"T DO ANYTHING I WOULDN'T DO....LIKE SEE THE IRISHMAN OR SOMETHING CRAZY LIKE THAT!!!
