What's On Tonight (Wednesday): Suits up for the penultimate episode

Suits (via Giphy)
[*takes sip of virgin margarita*] Why hello! Welcome to the calm before the storm. This is the last Wednesday of the 2018-19. It's a rather quiet night out there. Tonight, the highlight is Suits, which (should) conclude its nine-season run next week. I have no idea what is going on because I bailed during season three. Is that Markle gal still around? I liked her. For those who prefer to dress down, tonight includes finales for some competition programs, the Suits spinoff Pearson, and the superb South Side plus the return of American Horror Story, now set in... 1984!! Newbie late-nighter Lilly Singh gets a primetime special, too. Good for her! So walk the line hound dogs, here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, September 18!

πŸ’» STREAMING

When the Camellia Blooms (Netflix, 3 a.m.): In this South Korean import, Dongbaek, an orphan who grew up to become a single mom, meets and falls in love with Yongsik, a do-gooder police officer in their small town.

Wu-Tang: An American Saga (Hulu, 3 a.m.): Divine returns home, but it doesn’t feel the same because the people have been replaced by robots. (I made that last part up.)

EARLY PRIMETIME

Archie Bunker's Place πŸ“Ί (Antenna TV, 7 p.m.): The show cycled over yesterday, so these are episodes two and three. Archie goes into business with Jewish liberal Murray Klein. Then Edith, in one of her few appearances on the show (despite opening credit billing) wants a job, which Archie objects to.

Hunter Street (TeenNick, 7:30 p.m.): ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In πŸ“Ί (Decades, 7 p.m.): First up, Liberace, Lena Horne Alan Sues, and Kirk Douglas guest star. Later, Colonel Sanders, Bobby Darin, and Mitzi Gaynor guest star.

FOR THE RECORDThe Fixers (BYUtv)

πŸ•— EASTERN / πŸ•– CENTRAL

America's Got Talent (NBC, 8 p.m.): FINALE. Who's got talent?! AMERICA! USA!

The Andy Griffith Show πŸ“Ί (MeTV, 8:30 p.m.): In this television masterpiece, Opie accidentally kills a mama bird with a slingshot so he cares for her three young birds.

Country Music (PBS, 8 p.m.): Tonight spans 1953 to 1963 and the age of rockabilly with Sun Studios artists Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley. Plus, Ray Charles records a country album, and Patsy Cline rises to stardom.

Doctor Who πŸ“Ί (Retro TV, 8 p.m.): On the interstellar cruise ship Empress, drug smugglers Tryst (Lewis Fiander) and Dymond (Geoffrey Bateman) try to smuggle the deadly drug Vraxoin on the ship contained in alien beings called the Mandrels. The Doctor (Tom Baker) and Romana (Lalla Ward) have to sort out the situation.

MasterChef (Fox, 8 p.m.): FINALE. The top three must execute a three-course meal to prove they are a master of cheffing.

WWE NXT (NBC, 8 p.m.): When I see wrestling programming, I think of LaFergs.

FOR THE RECORDBasketball Wives (VH1); Big Brother (CBS); Married at First Sight: Reunion (Lifetime, 8:30)
MasterChef (via Giphy)

πŸ•˜ EASTERN / πŸ•— CENTRAL

Card Sharks πŸ“ΊπŸ’² (Buzzr, 9:30 p.m.): Ace is high, deuce is low. Call it right and win the dough, on (this January 1980 episode of ) Card Sharks!

David Makes Man (OWN, 10 p.m.): Already in dire straits, Gloria's financial situation gets worse, but David devises a plan. NOTE: I've seen this episode listed for both 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., so check your guide tomorrow.... because you guys are all watching this excellent show, right? RIGHT?!

⭐ Suits (USA, 9 p.m.): Tonight, Mike helps Harvey get over a personal loss. Meanwhile, an attempt to take down Faye (Denise Crosby) becomes complicated. I have no idea what is happening anymore, but overall it has an impressive regular and recurring cast. DulΓ© Hill, Rachael Harris, Neal McDonough, Erik Palladino, Wendell Pierce. Donna Paulsen is still around. But aww, that Meghan Markle actress left the show. I wonder what she is doing now.

πŸ•™ EASTERN / πŸ•˜ CENTRAL

American Horror Story: 1984 (FX, 10 p.m.): PREMIERE. A group of friends set out for a summer of fun when they hit the road to Camp Redwood to work as counselors. "The One Where Everyone Becomes a Camp Counselor"! "The Gang Becomes Camp Counselors"! What could go wrong?

Forbidden Love (Lifetime, 10 p.m.): I think this is a special preview/premiere. Maybe? Anyway, couples who have kept their relationships a secret from potentially disapproving friends and family risk everything by bringing their romances out into the open. They hope for support but brace for backlash.

A Little Late with Lilly Singh: The Primetime Special (NBC, 10 p.m.): After two episodes of a late night talk show, Lilly gets a primetime special. Movin' on up!

Pearson (USA, 10 p.m.): FINALE. In the season finale, titled "The Fixer," Jessica is split between her personal and professional life. Keri comes to a decision about her future.

South Side (Comedy Central): FINALE. In back-to-back episodes, "Kareme propels Rent-T-Own to the next level with his tasty mild sauce meatballs and Allen tries desperately to impress the Heirs of Madagascar social club." I'm giggling so much at that synopsis. Later, Simon and Kareme invest in the cryptocurrency called Litcoin (me: lololol), and Officer Goodnight shoots himself in the foot (also me: lololol). This show is great guys!

Sorenson's friend Leonard kidnaps a man who groped female passengers aboard a bus. (The names attached to this are inaccurate, probably, but the episode is titled "The Big Bang Theory.")
