What's On Tonight (Sunday): What Just Happened just happened

What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage (via Giphy)
Hey! It's you! Oh my gosh, that's crazy! Tonight, we have the (series) finale of What Just Happened??!, a show that I wanted to enjoy. If you enjoyed it, good for you, but the chances of it returning are nil. Some of you cancel-crazy league players might be interested in the ABC fall preview special (CBS' airs next week), and the premium nets still have plenty of offerings on this holiday weekend. So boar on the floor, here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, September 1!

EARLY PRIMETIME

ABC's Fall Preview Special (ABC, 7 p.m.): Cancellation Leaguers, this is your chance to seek out the potential fall duds from the Alphabet Network! Mixed-ish... Stumptown... Emergence... Kids Say... all freshman shows that are prime CL points possibilities.

Charmed πŸ“Ί (Pop, 6 p.m.): The marathon of episodes is pretty bland since it is the final season. The show now includes Kaley Cuoco as Billie Jenkins, who has trouble grasping her destiny, a storyline that has some major ups and downs.

Doctor Who πŸ“Ί (Retro TV, 7 p.m.): The Time Lord traitor Hedin (Michael Gough) seeks to bring the founder of the Time Lords, Omega (Ian Collier), out of the universe of antimatter by making him bond with the body of the Doctor (Peter Davison) in the universe of matter. The Doctor objects to such a plan. You can also see future Doctor actor Colin Baker in a small role.

Impractical Jokers (truTV, 6 p.m.): I list the Impractical repeat party as starting at 6 p.m. but it really starts at 1 p.m. and goes for 13 hours. Cancel your Sunday plans, HockeyMike!

Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase πŸŽ₯ (HBO Family, 7 p.m.): This 2019 film adaptation of the classic teen sleuth comes to the small screen. It stars Sophia Lillis, who you might remember from Sharp Objects and It, as the title character. The reviews were okay, but is Sophia better than Pamela Sue Martin? Not to mention the upcoming TV series with Kennedy McMann.

Top Gun πŸŽ₯πŸ”₯ (Paramount Network, 7:10 p.m.): In this insipid Academy Award-winning '80s movie, students at the U.S. Navy's elite fighter weapons school compete to be best in the class. However, some of the real lessons aren't taught in the classroom. This movie makes me want to drive the posted speed limit.

Valerie πŸ“Ί (Antenna TV, 6 p.m.): Beginning at 1 p.m., Antenna TV will play episode of Valerie (aka The Hogan Family) in memory of Valerie Harper. I haven't found a schedule for specific episodes, but they will definitely be from the first two years. The marathon ends at 10 p.m.

FOR THE RECORD60 Minutes (CBS, 7 p.m.); Killer Motive (Oxygen, 7 p.m.); Nick Cannon Presents: Wild 'n Out (VH1, 7 p.m.); Snapped (Oxygen, premiere)
Doctor Who, "Arc of Infinity" (via Tumblr)

πŸ•— EASTERN / πŸ•– CENTRAL

Chesapeake Shores (Hallmark Channel, 8 p.m.): A legend visits Trace. Megan plans Kevin's wedding. Jess and David discover their past can't be repaired. Bree's play begins rehearsals... Lots of happenings, yet just another hour at the shore.

Power (Starz, 8 p.m.): Tommy lays low after his Mustang is riddled with bullets. Tensions run high with Ghost and Jason, and Tommy enlists LaKeisha to help with his business. Then, Tasha confronts Ghost about Terry Silver.

Serengeti (Discovery Channel, 8 p.m.): Tonight on Serengeti Landing, the dry season is now upon the animals of the Serengeti, turning the waterhole into a death trap for the herds, but for some this season is a gift.

FOR THE RECORD90 Day FiancΓ©: Before the 90 Days (TLC); Beach Hunters (HGTV); Big Brother (CBS); A Lie to Die For (Oxygen); Murder in the Thirst (BET, finale); The Real Housewives of the Potomac (Bravo); Ridiculousness (MTV); Scandalous: The Death of Marilyn Monroe (Fox News); Storm Stories: The Next Chapter (Weather Channel); Vengeance: Killer Neighbors (HLN)

πŸ•˜ EASTERN / πŸ•— CENTRAL

The Affair (Showtime, 9 p.m.): Janelle turns to Carl for support. Production for the movie commences, and Sasha takes an interest in Helen.

Fear the Walking Dead (AMC, 9 p.m.): In search of a permanent home for the convoy, Charlie is drawn to a synagogue where she encounters a rabbi surviving on his own. Sarah and Dwight face unexpected foes.

Pennyworth (Epix, 9 p.m.): Alfred and Martha Kane take a train ride into the countryside on an assignment, while tragedy strikes in London.

Succession (HBO, 9 p.m.): In tonight's episode description... "Roman begins a six-week management training program. Connor and Willa attend the funeral of a family friend with a complicated past. Logan and Kendall arrange a covert meeting with PGM CEO Rhea Jarrell. Controversy surrounds a star anchor." IS SHIV NOT WORTHY OF EPISODE DESCRIPTIONS THIS SEASON?!?!

⭐ What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage (Fox, 9:30 p.m.): (Series) FINALE. After the ratings powerhouse show The Flare is canceled, Fred is heartbroken but must now do his job discussing the new hit teen drama Havenbrook. I'm curious how they explain the cancellation but probably not enough to watch. The show was amusing at best; the characters vs. the setting needed work. The final guests are Ron Funches and former professional wrestler Paige.

FOR THE RECORDAlaskan Bush People (Discovery Channel); Barnwood Builders (DIY); Caribbean Life (HGTV); Carnival Eats (Cooking Channel, finale); Evil Lives Here (ID); How It Really Happened (HLN); North Woods Law (Animal Planet); Paranormal Survivor (Travel Channel); SOS: How to Survive (Weather Channel); Unearthed (Science, finale); Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks (National Geographic); Worst Cooks in America (Food Network); A Year in Music/Trunkfest (AXS TV)

The Righteous Gemstones (HBO, 10 p.m.): Aimee-Leigh's elderly brother Baby Billy returns to the Gemstone ministry. Jesse closes ranks on his co-conspirators to discover the identity of his blackmailers.

πŸ•š EASTERN / πŸ•™ CENTRAL

Peter Gunn πŸ“Ί (Decades, 11:30 p.m.): In this season two highlight, Gunn is tipped the soon-to-be visiting Governor will be assassinated. When the rumor is shared Lt. Jacoby, there is a doubt as to the validity of this information. However, the plot is a ruse for something even bigger as Jacoby and Gunn find out."
