Cancellation League Update!

I'm preparing for CL 2024-2025 to conclude next Sunday. We're just waiting on the fates of five shows: Doctor Odyssey (first season finale Thursday), Grosse Pointe Garden Society (first season finale Friday), Accused (concluded its second season in December), Brilliant Minds (concluded its first season in January), and The Hunting Party (concluded its first season last month). If Alert or The Cleaning Lady are cancelled, it's worth kitty points. I wouldn't hold my breath about word on Good Cop/Bad Cop, but I will give it 100 presumptive points if there's no word by Saturday.

This week's activity included no points or demerits for the premiere of Suits: LA, points for the premiere of Grosse Pointe Garden Society (+100), and demerits for the early renewal of Doc (-500). Check your scores!

This week, we have -500 for the early renewal of High Potential and +300 for Watson's Metacritic score of 64. The Hunting Party still needs a Metacritic score, but I'll give it until its actual premiere or gets a score, whichever comes first.

This week's activity includes +500, kitty points, for Hollywood Squares not having a Metacritic score, -500, St. Denis Medical getting renewed, and -500, kitty points, for Murder in a Small Town getting renewed. So, yeah, the only thing that's going to register this week is St. Denis Medical.

Unless I missed anything, we've just got -300 each for NCIS: Origins and Poppa's House getting their back nine orders after Nov. 1, plus +300 for St. Denis Medical having a Metacritic score of 72.

Just two items that I know of this week, Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage getting a back 9 order (-500), and for kitty points, The Wranglers getting pulled from the schedule (+500) with four burnoffs (+400).

This week's biggest news came from the early renewal of Matlock (-500). I'm also taking away the 100 points I gave when Kathy Bates was talking about departing the show. Happy's Place had "respectable" debut ratings, so I'll consider that worth -100. Poppa's House had a 62 Metacritic score, worth 300 points. Poppa's House and NCIS: Origins retained a lot of viewers, so I'll declare both of them -100.

The CL gods taketh away and giveth away. I had to take away the 350 points I gave for what was then S.W.A.T.'s cancellation, but I also get to give back the 500 points for The Golden Bachelor being renewed, because that show turned out to be even more of a sham than expected.

We had some action this week, what with Grey's Anatomy and Will Trent getting renewed before May (-500 each), but also Quantum Leap being cancelled after two seasons (+200).
