What's On Tonight (Thursday): What's the deal with female comedians?

Tonight's Top Pick is the series finale of Hacks, premiering at 9 p.m. on HBO Max. Happy trails, Hannah Einbinder and Jean Smart. Good luck at the Emmys. At the risk of jinxing Jean, it would be pretty cool if she scored her fifth near-consecutive lead actress win for a five-season series that broadcast over six years. Off the top of my head, the closest would be Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, with six straight wins for Veep, which had seven seasons broadcast over eight years.

While I wonder if Julia Louis-Dreyfuss and Jean Smart doing a project together for HBO would cause the space-time continuum to collapse, let's see what else TV has to offer us for Thursday, May 28. All times are Eastern.
