Jeopardy!

WAY BACK WHEN // ACROSS THE LIBERAL ARTS // WAIT! MEASURES! // THISTLE DO NICELY / ROCK SONGS // SINGULAR & PLURAL ARE THE SAME

DD1 - 800 - ACROSS THE LIBERAL ARTS - Psychology: Before graduating from the University of Zurich in 1912, he got the nickname Klecks, or "Inkblot" (Long doubled to 4,800.)

Scores at first break: Roger 800, Long 5.400, Andrew -1,000.

Scores entering DJ: Roger 2,000, Long 6,600, Andrew 400.

Double Jeopardy!

ALL OVER THE COUNTRY // MAIL NOVELS // PERUSING SOME ARTICLES // NAMES IN FASHION // SHOWS ABOUT MURDER // PUTTING THE "DOUBLE" IN DOUBLE JEOPARDY!

DD2 - 1,600 - ALL OVER THE COUNTRY - The extinct volcano Ilyas Dag is near the westernmost part of Turkey, while this volcanic massif is near the easternmost part (With a good lead, Long doubled to 16,400.)

DD3 - 1,200 - PUTTING THE "DOUBLE" IN DOUBLE JEOPARDY! - An article in the journal Nature was titled this "and the Wronged Heroine", about Rosalind Franklin (Andrew doubled to 2,400.)

Long had a very big lead after doubling up on DD2, but Andrew was able to make up enough ground to stay in range into FJ at 12,800 vs. 21,600 for Long and 5,200 for Roger.

Final Jeopardy!

WORLD OF FIRST NAMES - Like an English-language one, this German first name of a physicist of sound & a 1930s film director means “serious”

Only Roger was correct on FJ. Long dropped 4,001 to pick up the win with 17,599.

Final scores: Roger 5,200, Long 17,599, Andrew 67.

Judging the judges: Now we know that if what a contestant writes for FJ "implies that (they) believe" they know the correct response, it counts.

That's before their time: No one could provide the last three words in the Rolling Stones lyric "It's only rock and roll but I like it".

Correct Qs: DD1 - Who was Rorschach? DD2 - What is Mount Ararat? DD3 - What is "Double Helix"? FJ - What is Ernst?
