| Maigret |
You are a meathead! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, October 5!
Our Top Pick tonight is the premiere of Maigret (PBS, 8 p.m.). Some people do love them some Det. Maigret. It hasn't even been 10 years since the Rowan Atkinson-led series debuted. And Gérard Depardieu starred in a movie just a few years ago. But this latest iteration, which moves the setting to the present, is coming to America first. Other countries are TBD. This Maigret is played by Benjamin Wainwright, following in the footsteps of other familiar names like Richard Harris, Michael Gambon, and Rupert Davies.
Elsewhere, Cyndi Lauper just wants to have fun, Friends are Smiling again, Tony Shaloub loves Bread, Margaret Thatcher and Brian Walden stop being friends, New Orleans has a Soul, the Killers reach the Limits, the Bloom has critics, and the Housewives are back in Potomac.
(All times are Eastern. All listings are new unless otherwise stated. For more listings, visit The Futon Critic or Gracenote.)
