It wasn't enough for Hegseth to pull rank over every US General on the planet. But Trump had to make the show, and it was a show, about him. They did showcase that neither of them has any military experience. It reminded all of those generals of magic bone spurs. Hegseth talking about fat generals surely went over well. No beards? What the fuck does that have to do with military readiness? A soldier who stops shave may reach the battle too late. Many black men wear beards to prevent painful ingrown hairs. And I don't have to tell you the struggle of women with visible facial hair. Maybe the worst was Trump complaining about how the Navy's ships are not pretty enough and being stealth is not as important as looking pretty. The room was full of people with lifetimes worth of service to the US and they were forced to leave their posts for this dog and pony show where they forgot to bring the dog or the pony and sent only the clowns.
