I toured Santiago, Chile today. Santiago is another of those places that has grown past its scars.They are there but they mostly don't want to talk about it. We went to their version of the White House first. It's mostly rebuilt because US bombs blew it up to kill Salvador Allende, the legally elected president, because he was socialist. So we killed the harmless socialist and installed the vicious dictator Augustin Pinochet. Pinochet took the National Stadium and turned it into a house of horrors. I went to the stadium today and I was just numb. Everything is white washed. The US involvement is wiped right out. That coup was run by the CIA and Papa Bush's reward was VP and then Presidency. Something wrong in the world? We're probably complicit.
