This chandelier was a gift from Generalissimo Francisco Franco (still dead) to fellow dictator Trujillo in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. It hangs in the Dominican pantheon of heroes. There is an altar, lots of marble coffins and an amazing arch ceiling painting with death on the left and resurrection/heaven on the right. There is an impressive amount of light in the room - and includes an eternal light on the marble floor in the middle of a strange six-pointed compass rose. Compass roses have points in multiples of four. They are common beside water. I have one on my kitchen floor. A six point rose might point you north and south but where are east and west?
The chandelier doesn't bring light. It sucks the light in and leaves darkness behind. Something to remember when Trump talks to his dictator "friends".
