Here are today's contestants:
- Holly Luo, a product designer originally from San Diego, California;
- Jack Altman, a law student from New York City; and
- Mehal Shah, a software engineer from Seattle, Washington. Mehal is a one-day champ with winnings of $9,799.
Jeopardy!
LEONARDO DA VINCI // NONFICTION // OTHER NAMES FOR THE CITY // CLASSIC TV THEME SONGS // ECONOMICS // COHAB VOCAB

Double Jeopardy!
NORSE MYTH // 21st CENTURY CINEMA // SILENT P // A LITTLE MATH, A LITTLE SCIENCE // HAVE FUN // STORMING THE CASTLE
DD2 - $1,600 - NORSE MYTH - The 9 realms include Alfheim, home of the light elves, Nidavellir, home of the dwarves & this, home to us puny ol' mortals (Mehal moved into first by doubling to $11,200.)
DD3 - $1,600 - STORMING THE CASTLE - Now meaning to secretly weaken, it originally meant to tunnel below a fortification in order to collapse the walls (Three clues after DD2 from the lead, Mehal doubled to $26,400.)
Mehal dropped to $0 on DD1, but that didn't deter him from going all-in on both DDs in DJ, including a bold bet from the lead on DD3 that put the game away into FJ at $37,600 vs. $9,800 for Holly and $7,400 for Jack.
Final Jeopardy!
INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITIES - Following student unrest in 1968, in 1970 the university of this city was divided into 13 smaller ones
Only Jack was correct on FJ. Mehal dropped $1,337 to win $36,263 for a two-day total of $46,062.
Final scores: Mehal $36,263. Jack $9,801, Holly $4,799.
That's before their time: No one knew the old phrase for a boyfriend & girlfriend sharing a home, "living in sin". How times have changed.
This day in shilling: Once again this week, a category shilled for an entertainment property, but this time there was no guest presenter, which kept the pace of the game going. As a result, no leftovers.
One more thing: If I see a clue about someone who can "hear the grass grow", my first thought will always be Roy Wood of The Move.
Correct Qs: DD1 - Who was Peary? DD2 - What is Midgard? DD3 - What is undermine? FJ - What is Paris?
