What's On Tonight (Monday): Wheel ... of ... Fortune!

Via Tenor.

Tonight's Top Pick is the 42nd season premiere of the syndicated Wheel of Fortune, airing at various times on stations nationwide. In the Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo market, it airs at 7 p.m., before Jeopardy! Ryan Seacrest is making his debut as Wheel's host, and he and Vanna White are making the talk show rounds. They're booked for Good Morning America, Live with Kelly and Mark and on Tuesday, Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.

I don't have a witty throw to the listings today, so I'll mention that Wheel of Fortune has aired on all three of Grand Rapids's old school network affiliates since 1983. The show aired on WOTV (now WOOD), the NBC station, from 1983 until at least 1985. In 1984, WOTV moved Wheel to 7, as the lead-in to Name That Tune. By 1992, Wheel and Jeopardy! aired in the 7 p.m. hour on WZZM, the ABC station. Since 1992, they've shared the 7 p.m. hour on WWMT, the CBS station. They also air at that time on the current WOTV's substation, our affiliate for The CW.

Before we finally get to the listings, I'll indulge in one more bit of local TV-syndication nerdiness: I'm slightly scandalized that Live with Kelly and Mark now airs on WWMT (and has been since at least the Ryan Seacrest days). When I was a boy, Live was a WZZM staple.
