Jeopardy! recap for Wed., Jul. 10

 Here are today's contestants:

- Larry P. Wellington, an entrepreneur from Madison, Mississippi;

- Alex Pribil, a fundraiser from Orlando, Florida; and

- Isaac Hirsch, a customer support team lead from Burbank, California. Isaac is a five-day champ with winnings of $120,187.

Jeopardy!

ROUGH TIMES IN THE CITY // NATIVE AMERICA // POTPOURRI // BREAD // TV REBOOTS // RHYME TIME

DD1 - $1,000 - ROUGH TIMES IN THE CITY - On Dec. 14, 1825 the Decembrist revolt in this port city sought to end serfdom; harshly, forcefully, serfdom did not end (Isaac doubled to $2,800.)

Scores at first break: Isaac $6,200, Alex $200, Larry $600.

Scores entering DJ: Isaac $8,000, Alex $3,200, Larry $1,800.

Double Jeopardy!

AFRICAN ISLANDS // AMERICAN LIT // ENDS IN "GH" // AUTOMAKERS // VISION & VISIONS // WHAT'S THAT MOVIE AGAIN?

DD2 - $1,200 - AFRICAN ISLANDS - The Aswan Museum was founded in 1912 on Elephantine Island in this river (From third place, Alex lost $4,400 on a true DD.)

DD3 - $1,600 - ENDS IN "GH" - Fittingly, since the audience is about to go home, it's the last word spoken by Macbeth (Still in third with just a few clues remaining, Alex added $2,000 to his score of $3,200.)

Isaac controlled the first round, then Larry made a strong move early in DJ, after which Isaac drew off again to lead into FJ at $16,800 vs. $10,600 for Larry and $5,600 for Alex.

Final Jeopardy!

FAMOUS AMERICANS - In his 1999 memoir he wrote, "I had been shot down a short walk's distance from the French-built prison Hoa Lo"

Everyone was correct on FJ. Isaac added $4,401 to win with $21,201 for a six-day total of $141,388.

Final scores: Isaac $21,201, Alex $9,600, Larry $16,801.

Triple stumper of the day: For a top-row clue, no one guessed the South Korean automaker whose first model was introduced in 1975 is Hyundai.

Wagering strategy: By holding back $1,200 from his DD3 wager, in the end Alex had no chance to win the game, while if he had gone all-in, he could have won with a large enough bet on FJ and if both opponents had missed.

Correct Qs: DD1 - What is St. Petersburg? DD2 - What is the Nile? DD3 - What is enough? FJ - Who was John McCain?
