What's On Tonight (Wednesday): Welcome to the X-Men, hope you survive the experience

X-Men '97

RIP Showtime Anytime! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, May 1!

Our Top Pick tonight is the animated revival X-Men '97 (Disney, 3 a.m.). This revival drops you right back in the world of the '90s Saturday morning series. It's been widely praised by X-Men fans, so take note. I'm not an X-Men fan and am much more meh on it, especially the broad character strokes -- though they're similar to Saturday morning cartoons of the '90s. That said, it contains a few really good storylines.

Elsewhere, the Bad Batch finds their ending, Chucky has demons, Acapulco is about mothers, Jeopardy! welcomes the Masters, Brittney Griner is interviewed, Dan Rather gets docuseries treatment, Sister Boniface ponders murderous dolls, Abbott has a book club, a Conner runs for office, Sean Bean is Thomas Cromwell, and a Voltaggio and Amar return to Top Chef.
