Jeopardy! recap for Tue., Apr. 30

 Here are today's contestants:

- Laura Bligh, a webmaster from Vienna, Virginia;

- Bryan Carrasco, a mortgage loan originator from Columbia, Missouri; and

- Amy Hummel, an ER doctor from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Amy is a four-day champ with winnings of $85,794.

Jeopardy!

A GAP ON THEIR RÉSUMÉS // QUESTIONABLE SONG TITLES // ENDS WITH "K" // STATE MAMMALS // GIVING SOME DIRECTION // COOKIES, MY FAVORITE!

DD1 - $1,000 - STATE MAMMALS - The resolution making this breed Texas' official large mammal stated it was "once the cornerstone of" its cattle industry (Bryan added $1,000 on a true DD.)

Scores at first break: Amy $3,200, Bryan $2,000, Laura $3,000.

Scores entering DJ: Amy $4,800, Bryan $4,200, Laura $4,800.

Double Jeopardy!

THE GAP ON THEIR RÉSUMÉS // AROUND THE WORLD // BLANK VERSE // 5-SYLLABLE WORDS // AFRICAN LEADERS // LAW SLAW

DD2 - $1,200 - AROUND THE WORLD - The historic castle of Chillon stands on the shore of this lake that's formed by the Rhone River (Bryan dropped $10,200 on a true DD vs. $6,800 for Amy and never got close to the lead again.)

DD3 - $1,200 - LAW SLAW - In 1919, around when Prohibition began, New Mexico enacted a $1,000 fine for this, applied to the passenger too (Late in the round in third place with $1,600, Bryan surprisingly only wagered $1,200 and was correct.)

Strange game in which Bryan played aggressively on DD2, betting everything while with the lead and dropping to $0. This left the battle to Amy and Laura, and an incorrect guess by Laura on the last clue of DJ, followed by a rebound by Amy, set up a tie for first into FJ at $7,600 with Bryan in third at $3,200.

Final Jeopardy!

FICTIONAL GROUPS - Maybe because he was too Baroque, Bernini was rejected as a name for a member of this group created in 1983

Amy and Bryan were correct on FJ, with Amy doubling to win with $15,200 for a five-day total of $100,994. Note that Laura wagered $0, locking up at least second money and hoping to win if Amy missed.

Final scores: Amy $15,200, Bryan $6,398, Laura $7,600.

A Gap in their knowledge: The players missed four out of five in a category about celebrities in Gap ads, including "You live, you learn, you love, you learn" singer Alanis Morisette.

Correct Qs: DD1 - What is longhorn? DD2 - What is Lake Geneva? DD3 - What is drunk driving? FJ - Who are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?
