What's On Tonight (Sunday): The stuff that TV shows are made of

Monsieur Spade

You're a good man, sister! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, January 14!

Our Top Pick tonight is the premiere of Monsieur Spade (Acorn TV & AMC+, 3 a.m. & AMC, 9 p.m.). This limited series brings Sam Spade to the small screen, albeit in small-town France many years after the events of The Maltese Falcon. Spade (Clive Owen) wants a peaceful life, but then nuns are murdered and some old World War II-era wounds reveal themselves.

Elsewhere, Critics give out awards, True Detective returns, sportsballs are thrown for wildcards (and next week... regionals!), Boarding School gets deadly, vets go in for a Pet Rescue, and Belgravia welcomes a new Generation.

(All times are Eastern. All listings are new unless otherwise stated. For more listings, visit The Futon Critic or Zap2it.)
