What's On Tonight (Thursday): She's just a girl, appearing on a talk show, asking the audience to love her

Via Giphy.

Tonight's Top Pick is a show I had planned never to make the Top Pick, Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. Andy's lone guest is Ms. Julia Roberts, who has been plugging the hell out of Leave the World Behind. You know me, always one to honor some good old-fashioned project-pimping.

While I muse on whether 30 minutes of wonderful is really greater than or equal to a lifetime of nothing special, let's see what else TV has to offer us for Thursday, Dec. 7. All times are EST.

STREAMING
The Lovers, 3:01 a.m., Sundance Now. Series premiere. "Follows Janet (Roisin Gallagher), a foul-mouthed supermarket worker who doesn't care about anything, and Seamus (Johnny Flynn), a handsome, self-centered, political broadcaster with a seemingly perfect London life and a celebrity girlfriend (Alice Eve). When they unexpectedly meet, they instantly clash - and yet also find themselves inextricably drawn to each other." Two episodes available, followed by one per week through Thursday, Jan. 4.

Archie, 3:01 a.m., Britbox. Series premiere. "Explores the man born Archibald Leach, born into poverty in Bristol in 1904, long before he became Hollywood's Cary Grant (Jason Isaacs). Additionally, scenes set later, in the 1960s, feature Grant in Los Angeles with personal issues affecting his happiness despite international stardom and many box office hit movies." Two episodes available, concludes next week.

The Archies, 3:01 a.m., Netflix. Premiere. "Archie Comics are reimagined in a live-action musical comedy set in 1960s India."

Never Alone for Christmas, 3:01 a.m., BET+. Premiere. "When a woman gets cold feet and calls off her wedding, she winds up at the same retreat for singles as her ex-fiancé."

Rescuing Christmas, 3:01 a.m., Hallmark Movie Network. Premiere. "In a world where Santa (T. Mychael Rambo) is real and wants to drum up some holiday spirit, two of Santa's elves, Chuck (Patrick Thomas O'Brien) and Debbie (Bailey Stender), devise a plan to grant one human on Earth three wishes to kickstart the holidays. Unfortunately, that human is Erin (Rachael Leigh Cook), who has lost all affection for the season. Even a blind date set up by her sister, with the affable and charming Sam (Sam Page), won't change her mind about Christmas. But when she makes the mistake of wishing Christmas would 'just disappear,' Erin wakes up to a world where the holiday never existed! Horrified, she realizes that she's taken away everyone's joy, so she enlists Sam to help her reinvent the festivities from scratch. In the process, Erin learns just how much this holiday and its traditions have meant to everyone around her - and how much Sam has come to mean to her."

Frasier, 3:01 a.m., Paramount+. Season finale. "Reindeer Games." "On Christmas Eve, Freddy stretches himself to be there for Frasier, who's coping with Martin's death by throwing a lavish party, and Eve, who's hiding out at home dealing with her own loss." Special Guest Star Peri Gilpin as Roz.

Julia, 3:01 a.m., Max. "Chartwinkerie."

Bookie, 3:01 a.m., Max. "Step Three: Trust Your Sphincter" and "Some Whales Nix the Vig." Two episodes available.
