What's On Tonight (Wednesday): Finals week in Chemistry 101

Lessons in Chemistry

Happy Thanksgiving Eve! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, November 22!

Our Top Pick tonight — a night full of early Thanksgiving offerings — is the finale of Lessons in Chemistry (Apple TV+, midnight). Adapted from a book, Elizabeth Zott (Brie Larson) is an incredibly smart chemist trying to navigate workplace sexism of the 1960s, but is ultimately booted from her lab tech job after becoming pregnant. She then becomes an icon as host of a cooking show, Supper at Six. Like the book, Zott is pretty deadpan. There's a good recurring cast like Andy Daly, Beau Bridges, and Rainn Wilson, too, but it can be odd. Part of an episode is narrated by Elizabeth's dog, and Supper at Six, while teased in the first episode, doesn't come about until the miniseries' latter half.

ElsewhereGood Burger 2 is still home of the Good Burger, High on the Hog returns for round 2, the Buccaneers have a weekend adventure, Disney spotlights the Naughty, Hannah Waddingham loves the holidays, Melissa McCarthy is a Genie, Dead looks for Richard III's two nephews, Nova uses science and genealogy, and a new Velveteen Rabbit adaptation is released.
