Tonight's Top Pick is The Improv: 60 and Still Standing, a Netflix special saluting the comedy clubs that began with the first location in New York. It would be kind of funny to do a mockumentary about one of those clubs that opened after stand up became big business, the kind that Jay Leno said had names like Hostess snack cakes: Ho-Ho's, Ha-Ha's, Tickles, Giggles, Jokers, Zanies and such on.

Up until now, I didn't know this existed. I still don't like Joker, but learning about this scene and especially its graphic novel source material does clear up some point of confusion, like why a Dr. Ruth analogue was among Murray's guests on that fateful broadcast. Also, let it be known that Conan O'Brien is legitimately good at voice acting. That said, imagine if David Letterman was (a) willing to voice the host and (b) willing to use his Late Night-era laugh (You know the one.) for the horror effect.
LATE NIGHT PICK!
