RIP to Ken Mattingly, the would-be Apollo 13 Command Module Pilot who was grounded due to a rubella exposure and ended up playing a key role in getting the mission back to earth safely.  If you haven't watched Ron Howard's Apollo 13 in awhile (or never seen it), go check it out.  It still holds up. (CNN)

Anthony Blinken arrived in Israel earlier today to try and cool the temperature in Gaza. (CBC)

Restaurants here are still struggling - higher prices, among other things, seem to be keeping customers away.  Unlike the US a lot of our COVID business loans weren't forgiven and the looming repayment deadline is causing a lot of anxiety for small business owners of all stripes. (CBC)

Interest in cryptocurrency is on the wane in Canadian political discourse. (CBC)

Ivanka won't be around to hand her kids off to the Au Pair next week as the courts denied her most recent request to dodge a subpoena in her Father's New York fraud trial on the claim of being too busy with school-year child care duties. (CNN).  Here is the funnier Wonkette story (Wonkette)

Political discussion welcome.
