What's on Tonight (Sunday): Carpin' all them diems

Rick and Morty

Wubba-lubba-dub-dub! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, October 22!

Our Top Pick tonight is Rick and Morty (Adult Swim, 11 p.m.). The show returned last week and now features Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden voicing the title characters after the dismissal of co-creator, voice actor, and major creep Justin Roiland. Recent seasons of this once-brilliant series have been wildly uneven. I expect that to continue since Roiland wasn't involved in production.

ElsewhereFamily Guy doesn't like his reverse mortgage, Winter King seeks peace, Billions feuds, a sportsball team could be a champion, Billy the Kid vs. smallpox, and Mr. Chow gets documentary treatment.

They are a prideful people, ruled within a city-state system, but none was more powerful and popular than the southern city of Woodchuck. With new lands to see and peoples to trade with, punxsutawnis now mingled with pixies, whos, yetis and brownies. However, it was the tufte person named Plurs that catches the eye of the Lady Filipa. Yet intermarriage was forbidden under punxsutawni law, especially Filipa, who's father is King Buckeye. No matter, the two begin an affair for the ages, living in the new, untamed Christmas lands that were once the Unami Strait. Soon enough, her father comes searching, dragging her back to Woodchuck. Her affair quickly becomes public knowledge and the strict people demand action for her crime. When Plurs makes his way to the city, he is soon outed and put in prison. The King's lack of punishment weakens his control and soon chaos ensues. In the madness, Filipa sees Plurs in prison but the mob comes for him only to find her, too. Both are killed and Buckeye's rule is overthrown in the days to come. Only later, is it discovered that Filipa was pregnant, which doesn't change opinion in its day, but many generations later, she is seen as a martyr and icon of the punxsutawni peoples.
