What's On Tonight (Friday): Shoresy is Back and He'll Be So Good to You...

Shoresy

I enjoy Letterkenny, but the last season didn't do much for me.  Perhaps it's getting a little stale.  It's spin-off, Shoresy, on the other hand, had a hilarious first season and I am very much looking forward to watching the second.  As with the first season, there are only six episodes, and all are under thirty minutes, so it's a perfect show to binge over the weekend (or just over a single evening).

TOP PICK

🏒 Shoresy (Hulu, 12:01 AM) SEASON TWO. ✔️

Elsewhere...

*Halloween is almost upon us so most of the streamers/networks have already put out their scary products, but we still got a few premiering today.  Most prominent of which is the premiere of Five Nights at Freddy's, which is also being shown in theaters this weekend.  If you have or had kids over the last several years, you are probably already familiar with the source material, either through the game itself or the endless YouTube videos.  It's at 31% on RottenTomatoes, but I honestly wouldn't expect it to be any higher than that.

*Apple is also premiering something scary just in time for Halloween called The Enfield Poltergeist.  This appears to be a cross between a documentary and a fully dramatized adaptation of the original case.  I know very little about the real story other than it was investigated by Lorraine and Ed Warren, so it is almost certainly complete bullshit, but even bullshit can be entertaining.

*Not to be outdone, Peacock has the streaming premiere of The Nun II.  The original film was based on a "real" haunting that was also connected to Lorraine and Ed Warren, which means it too was almost certainly complete bullshit.  This film should not be confused with Netflix's Sister Death, another film about supernatural nonsense involving nuns and a girls' school.
