Our Top Pick tonight is the premiere of FLCL: Grunge (Adult Swim, midnight). Adult Swim tries to breathe new life into this anime that first premiered in 2000. The original run is iconic anime, though it's not in everyone's taste and not all of it has aged well. 12-year-old Naota meets the guitar-wielding alien Haruko Haruhara and strange things happen -- robots-grow-from-his-head strange. In 2018, seasons 2 and 3 (Progressive, Alternative) aired, following Haruko and a teenage girl. This new series returns to the preteen boy POV and the animation has gone CGI. [*fanboys seethe in disgust*]
