Dawn |
Yabba Dabba Doo! Here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, July 22!
Our Top Pick tonight is limited series Dawn (Lifetime, 8 p.m.). Based on the V.C. Andrews/Andrew Neiderman books, the series pits young Dawn Longchamp (Brec Bassinger) against her wicked step-grandmother Lillian Cutler (Donna Mills) as she is trusted into a new family. Each installment run 2 hours (including commercials) and covers a book. I watched the first one, and while the production values and script leave plenty to be desired, Bassinger is a solid lead, who can hold her own against Donna Mills and Fran Drescher.
Elsewhere, Your Age wants privacy, Toonami airs the correct episode of Dr. Stone, Peppa goes swimming, One Piece heads for Dressrosa, and Catchy Comedy takes a page right out of history.
(All times are Eastern. All listings are new unless otherwise stated. For more listings, visit The Futon Critic or Zap2it.)
