What's On Tonight (Wednesday): P.I. etiquette with Patricia Arquette

High Desert

I'll be back! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, June 7!

Our Top Pick tonight is High Desert (Apple TV+, midnight). This detective comedy finds Patricia Arquette as a former addict trying to make a new life as a private investigator, though the life around her is a bit of a trainwreck and she doesn't want to go through the schooling. Brad Garrett plays her (very) reluctant employer and Bernadette Peters plays supposed-to-be-dead mom. The show doesn't have much bite or life to it outside of Arquette's performance.

Elsewhere, it's still Sunny in Philadelphia, Awkwafina is Nora from Queens and Awkwafina from Queens, TCM documents preservation, Nancy Drew is pressed for deets, a Boy ventures out into the world, Big Freedia wants to invest, HBO finds the Burden of Proof, and the Smurfs are streaming.
