What's On Tonight (Friday): The Redcoats Have Your Woman, Outlander!

Outlander

Regarding the headline, I realize the outlander in Outlander is Claire, not Jamie, but when I watched the first season way back in the day, I was quoting Children of the Corn pretty frequently.  I never watched beyond the first season as I didn't have Starz.  Also, there was a fair amount of sexual violence on the show, which I can live without (I was pretty happy that House of the Dragon featured about 95% less rape than Game of Thrones).  Still, it's an impressive show and I'm kinda shocked it's still going.  This is the penultimate season, so you still got some time to catch up.

Top Pick

⭐🔔 Outlander✔️(Starz, 8:00 PM) SEASON 7 PREMIERE. 'Jamie, Claire, and their family are caught in the violent birth pains of an emerging nation as armies march to war and British institutions crumble in the face of armed rebellion.'

Elsewhere...

*I never watched the first Extraction, although it's been in my queue forever.  I'm just waiting for a time when I'm in the mood for a dumb action movie and there isn't something better that I haven't seen before.  Usually, there's something better.  I did enjoy the trailer for Extraction 2 because it's mostly one long action sequence from the film.  More action film trailers should do that.  Is the movie any good?  Probably not.

*Netflix has a new film called The Village.  It is not the M. Night Shyamalan film.  I'm not sure if that makes me more or less likely to check it out.

*Tubi has a new film called Butch vs. Sundance.  There is no trailer for this film that I can find.  I would not be shocked if this was a just a new edit of the classic film where Paul Newman and Robert Redford end up murdering each other.  Or perhaps they will almost murder each other until they discover their moms have the same first name.  It happens more often than you may think.

*I just discovered that Strange New Worlds is back this week.  I am a happy boy.  It's my favorite of the current Star Trek shows.  Now that Pike has made peace with his destiny, maybe we can move beyond that particularly depressing storyline.
