What's On Tonight (Friday): Who's Ready for Some Outrageous French Accents?

Asterix & Obelix: The Middle Kingdom

I am not terribly familiar with Asterix & Obelix. I know it's a French comic book series that started back in the 50's and there have been several French films based on it, most of which were animated.  Mostly I know of it because it is referenced fairly regularly on the Blank Check podcast, so I figured I'd give the most recent film a shot.

Top Pick

๐ŸŽฅ Asterix & Obelix: The Middle Kingdom (Netflix, 3:01 AM) 'Gallic heroes and forever friends Asterix and Obelix journey to China to help Princess Sa See save the Empress and her land from a nefarious prince.'

Elsewhere...

*Hulu remade White Men Can't Jump and it actually looks pretty good.  The basic concept looks the same, but the most interesting element kept from the original is the goofy white basketball player has a smoking hot Latina girlfriend who would never date this moron in real life.

*I am unashamed to admit that watching the trailer for A Thousand and One made me tear up.  And that is why I will never watch the movie.  It looks decent, but I don't need a good emotional expunging right now.  Gotta keep that shit locked down.

*Hallmark Movie Channel is premiering another murder mystery this week.  I understand last week's murder mystery wasn't particularly difficult to figure out.  This week's entry might be better as it is centered around a different character.  (Narrator: It would not be better.)

*I've been re-watching Andor this past week.  How good is Andor?  It's a shame it's set in the Star Wars universe because it makes almost everything we've gotten from Star Wars seem pretty lackluster in comparison.  The only bad thing is we're only getting two seasons.
