Illicit? Justice Neil Gorsuch had something good to say for once when he pointed out in a dissent that a case was giving a power to the judiciary that belongs to the executive and legislative branches.. [Vox]
No surprise that Kevin McCarthy is making a lot of noise about wanting Biden to sit down with him to discuss raising the debt ceiling on the backs of everyone but the richest. Raising the debt ceiling was a matter of course under Trump. Democrat back in office? Let's throw the economy under the bus and blame it on him. The White House pointed out that Biden has put out a budget that will cut the debt and Republicans haven't (probably can't) responded with a budget of their own. They also had this to say: “It’s time for Republicans to stop playing games, agree to a pass a clean debt ceiling bill, and quit threatening to wreak havoc on our economy. And if they want to have a conversation about our nation’s economic and fiscal future, it’s time for them to put out a Budget – as the President has done with his detailed plan to grow the economy, lower costs, and reduce the deficit by nearly $3 trillion.” [CNN]
Tommy Tuberville, who has always given Our Dumb Senator a run for his money, may have pulled ahead with his latest stunt. He's single-handedly blocking all military promotions which is weakening our defense capabilities because he thinks the Department of Defense is an "Abortion Travel Agency". [Esquire]
It's also no surprise that Ginni Thomas is behind collecting dark money. No record of how much of a cut that she gets. If this were the spouse of a liberal judge there would be an outcry. Maybe if we're lucky someone will steal her laptop. [USA Today]
Political discussion welcome.
