What's On Tonight (Wednesday): Law in the Family

The Family Law

The tribe has spoken! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, April 13!

Our Top Pick tonight is the complete series import The Family Law (Hulu, midnight), which is neither a remake of the 1999-2002 CBS drama nor the Jewel Staite-Victor Garber Canadian drama — the latter is scheduled for The CW. This Australian 3-season comedy follows a Chinese-Australian family through the eyes of the 14-year-old Benjamin Law (Trystan Go), who dreams of being a soap opera star. It looks cute but with drama.

ElsewhereScrat becomes a dad, Wonder Years' eldest returns from Vietnam, Obama visits the national parks, The Conners remodel, Flash tries to stop Black Flame, a hostage takes over the fire station, Nature goes to Alaska, Little Things plays a game, and Home Economics needs to finish writing.

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

⭐ The Family Law (Hulu, midnight): COMPLETE SERIES. "There's the rules, then there's the Laws. Based on the best-selling book by Benjamin Law, The Family Law is a drama-comedy series following everyone's favorite almost-functional Asian Australian family." The total count for the show is 3 seasons with 18 episodes.✔️

πŸ“Ί Head of the Class (HBO Max, now): The Isabella Gomez-led remake didn't work as it was canceled after its one season. However, you can still relive the original  Howard Hesseman (RIP)-led series about a teacher and a class of gifted students where all sorts of hijinks happened. Though you won't always Hesseman. He angrily left the show, despising what it was, so Billy Connolly filled in for a final season.

High Design (Discovery+, 3 a.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. Design Star winner Kim Myles hosts this home renovation show.

Ice Age: Scrat Tales (Disney+, 3 a.m.): LIMITED SERIES. In this 6-episode series, Scrat experiences the ups and downs of fatherhood as he and the mischievous Baby Scrat bond with each other and battle for ownership of the highly treasured acorn.

Miraculous World: Shanghai - The Legend of Lady Dragon (Disney Channel, 7 p.m.): SPECIAL. "During school break, Marinette heads to Shanghai to meet Adrien and discover her own origins."

Our Great National Parks (Netflix, 3 a.m.): LIMITED SERIES. A five-part documentary series, narrated by Barrack Obama, about the world's most breathtaking national parks and the wildlife that live there. Eh, I'll still take Ken Burns' historical profile.

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder (Disney+, 3 a.m.): LaCienega feels threatened by her cousin as she anticipates her quinceaΓ±era; Sunset is talked into making poor choices by her sister.
