It's always nice when the Top Pick is not only a show that so obviously deserves to be Top Pick (and inherit the fabled Top Pick bump), but also is a show I thoroughly enjoy. I was a little depressed that Peacekeeper ended this week, but Maisel should fill that hole nicely. The two shows have little to nothing in common other than both are capable of being very funny and very sad. Perhaps it's time for a crossover.
Elsewhere Apple TV+ is premiering Severance, the premise of which sounds like a Philp K Dick story. Netflix has a new Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which continues the recent trend of sequels appropriating the title of the original rather than coming up with something original. I guess if they could come up with something original, they wouldn't be making a Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel. There's also the second season of Space Force, which, okay.
If none of the new offerings float your boat there's plenty of Olympics to go around, but really only if you have Peacock or get the USA network. I can't imagine trying to follow what's going on with only the offerings on NBC to watch. I guess that's par for the course.
