What’s On Tonight (Thursday): Leapin’ Lizards! It’s Annie Live!

via Tenor

Our top pick is Annie Live!, premiering on NBC. I hope you’ll all join me on the day thread for live commentary on something that will either be amazing or awful. Just to start things off, I’ll say that I think it’s stupid to inflate a Broadway-length show (roughly two hours) into a three-hour TV broadcast.

Let’s see what else TV has to offer us for Thursday, Dec. 2. All times are EST.

STREAMING

Single All The Way, 3:01 a.m., Netflix. Premiere. “Desperate to avoid his family’s judgement about being single, Peter (Michael Urie) persuades best friend Nick (Philemon Chambers) to pose as his boyfriend on a trip home for the holidays. Costarring Barry Bostwick, Jennifer Coolidge, Luke Macfarlane and Kathy Najimy.

Queen of the Universe, 3:01 a.m., Paramount+. Premiere. For its inaugural season, the series will bring together 14 of the world's fiercest queens, as they vie for the title of ‘Queen of the Universe’ and a cash prize of $250,000. Each episode will showcase the contestants' vocal prowess as they debut a new musical performance in front of a live audience and the series' previously announced "Pop Diva Panel" of judges.” They include Vanessa Williams, Michelle Visage, Trixie Mattel and Leona Lewis. Graham Norton hosts.

Baking It, 3:01 a.m., Peacock. Premiere. Maya Rudolph and Andy Samberg co-host and co-executive produce (with co-creator Amy Poehler) this series that “celebrates everything we love about the holidays: friends, family, incredible food — and grandmothers pointing out everything we do wrong in the kitchen.” Six episodes available.

Santa Inc., 3:01 a.m., HBO Max. Premiere. Candy Smalls (voice of Sarah Silverman), the North Pole’s highest-ranking elf, makes a big to be the first female Santa when the big guy (voice of Seth Rogan) goes to work for Amazon.
