π₯π A Royal Queens Christmas (Hallmark Channel, 8 p.m.): In the far-off land Queen Cuca thinks of herself as a popular and beloved queen to her homeland, despite plenty of naysaying and apathy to her family's 400-year rule. The introduction of a republican government 200-years ago still has limits. Cuca ascended to the throne as a teenager when her father, Bolo, died suddenly. Taking yet another trip elsewhere, she visits Christmasia and decides to mostly get off the grid, visiting some smaller communities and perhaps, in an overly-perfect world, find a spouse at one of the festivals. She's been a busy queen during her reign, never finding the right significant other. She doesn't want to marry a distant cousin like all her predecessors did. In Glenbrooke, she meets a young Pvt. Rudolph, and they hit it off pretty well. However, she soon finds herself embroiled in a crisis at home. Her people have had enough and they are set to topple her rule. They don't want a monarchy anymore, even if she is largely just a (rich) figurehead for the country. The allies Cuca thought she had in her government start to fall away due to pressure and soon she finds herself mostly alone with her inner circle in Christmasia, a country that itself disbanded remnants of a monarchy after the War of the Third Noel. Cuca soon finds herself wondering the world, looking for a country that will accept her, a person in exile.
