There was a Japanese-American community thriving in California despite obstacles. Everything changed for them on December 7th, 1941. Japanese-Americans were treated differently than German- or Italian-Americans. Only those of Japanese descent were rounded up and held in concentration camps. [LA Times]

It's cold outside here. It's always a trial if you're homeless but winter can be even more dangerous. Or maybe you live somewhere where it's not cold but resources are short to non-existent for people without a home.
