I'll be honest: I can't get entirely behind this week's Top Pick(s). Christmas is a surprisingly violent holiday already without creating an artificial rivalry between Lifetime and Hallmark over who owns the "bad made-for-cable female-centric Christmas movies" market. I'm in a bit of a jam this week as nothing that is premiering or returning particularly appeals to me. It was either this or the absurd number of basketball games being shown on the various sports networks tonight. Thirteen basketball games! Ranging from high school to the NBA! Does anyone need that much basketball? Does basketball need that much basketball?? So it was either perpetuate the idea that 13 basketball games is a good thing or the inherent violence of Christmas. I chose the latter. I pray I did not choose poorly.
