The judge let the defense have their nearly all white jury. Not letting the defense kick out black clergy from the courtroom, while right, doesn't correct the racist imbalance of the case against the men who murdered Ahmaud Arbery. [Guardian]
Now there's talk of letting the jury consider lesser charges for Kyle Rittenhouse. Keep in mind that Wisconsin does not have capital punishment so he's already facing lesser charges than he would in much of the country. There is no doubt that he killed two men, wounded another and shot at more. Closing arguments are Monday so we can all have nightmares this weekend. [[Kenosha News]
Those making a big deal out of the fact that the Appeals court panel that's allowing Trump to continue his attempt to block evidence from the House were all Democrat appointees are missing something important. Unlike Republicans, Democrats sometimes do things because they think it's right. [CNN]
Finally some good news out of COP26. The US and China delivered a joint declaration on working to ease climate change. That's the two largest economies by far. We need to work together if we have any hope. [CNBC]
