What's On Tonight (Sunday): Rise of the machines

Wellington Paranormal

And the Tony Award goes to... Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, September 26!

Tonight's Top Pick is a spinoff from across the Pacific: Wellington Paranormal (The CW, 8 p.m.). Episodes are available the next day are available on HBO Max. The What We Do in the Shadows spinoff (the movie, not the American TV show) follows Officers Minogue and O'Leary (Mike Minogue, Karen O'Leary) and their supervisor Sergeant Ruawai Maaka (Maaka Pohatu) as they handle ghosts, vampires, werewolves, spirits, and many other paranormal beings. I think it's hilarious. No word on if more episodes will air stateside.

Elsewhere, it's Tonys night and Broadway's Back, Animation Domination is back for a new season (fun fact: AD shows have already aired a combined total of 64 seasons), Tom Everett Scott does a Hallmark movie, Kanan arrives at a Power finale, Teddy Roosevelt is a Guest in the Amazon, CNN investigates Britney Spears, Starz joins a BMF, HBO goes Nuclear, and Work in Progress stands with BLM.

(All times are Eastern. All listings are new unless otherwise stated. For more listings, visit The Futon Critic or Zap2it.)
