Texas Governor Abbott isn't satisfied with banning abortion and disenfranchising black voters. He's calling for another special session. On the agenda? Gerrymandering, restriction on trans students' rights and, to make sure Democrats stick around, the disbursement of emergency COVID funds. He's bringing back a bill that he had already vetoed that would ban chaining dogs outside but he wants the legislature to address his concerns about "over-criminalization". Abbott is okay with you torturing your dog. Not if you're a woman, not white or if you're trans. [Texas Tribune]
