The House select committee investigating the insurrection has issued subpoenas to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, former White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications Dan Scavino, former Defense Department official Kashyap Patel and former Trump adviser Steve Bannon. It will be interesting to see how much enforcement will be required to bring them to the hearing. [Associated Press]

I'm not the only one angry about the deportation of Haitian refugees. US special envoy for Haiti Daniel Foote submitted his resignation because he won't be party to this. [NPR]

The bogus Maricopa County recount may almost be over but the nonsense is just beginning in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Remember when people complained about nonstop elections they meant campaigns and not never ending elections? [NPR]

A CDC advisory group rejected recommending COVID booster shots for health workers, prisoners, homeless and teachers among others. They did recommend boosters for those over 65 and those with underlying conditions. [CNBC]
