This sucks, part one. If the select committee subpoenas the White House phone logs from January 6th then it will be up to Biden to determine if executive privilege applies. When was the last time a President chose to concede power rather than consolidate it? [CNN]
This sucks, part two. Survivors and families of victims will ask Biden not to attend any 9-11 memorials this year unless he unseals classified evidence that could incriminate Saudi Arabia. That Biden hasn't already cleared the documents makes it likely that Saudi Arabia or some other sensitive party is involved. Release could lead to war or other serious consequences. That or Biden is an evil bastard and is covering up for Saudi Arabia (if you believe this...). But Biden's presence at the Memorials is required. It is not optional for Biden to spend the day of the 20th anniversary of the worst terrorist attack on the US by reading a book to school kids or hiding on a plane. [NBC]
One of the women who have accused Gov. Cuomo of sexual harassment has filed a complaint with the Albany County Sheriff's Department. Criminal prosecution is now on the table. [WABC]
The US Department of Education has extended the federal student loan freeze until January. This would never happen under DeVos. [NPR]
Political discussion welcome.
