Turner & Hooch |
He is a good boy! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, July 28!
The global sportballs have chased away many TV shows on broadcast and cable, but streaming remains alive, especially as Disney+ makes bigger stakes on Wednesday. I have Top Pick options! Are they good options? That depends on your age, such is the case with tonight's TP, Turner and Hooch, a TV remake of the Tom Hanks movie. It is light entertainment, clearly skewing to children with its toned-down take on investigating high crimes. Josh Peck is fine, and there's a very twee romance with a dog trainer.
Elsewhere, Chip and Dale are livin' in the park, athletes go for the gold, Robin Roberts gets a solo talk show, Dave spends time with his parents, Callie and Mariana team-up for some Good Trouble, Viceland investigates Jehovah's Witnesses, bad tattoos get a makeover, and Match Game wraps its season.

STREAMING & EARLY PRIMETIME

Chip 'n' Dale: Park Life (Disney+, 3 a.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. "The lovable chipmunk troublemakers in a non-verbal, classic style comedy, following the ups and downs of two little creatures living life in the big city." Somewhere, I have a handful of their '50s specials on VHS.✔️
π² Jeopardy! (Syndicated, check local listings): LeVar Burton hosts in the role he was born to do. He's like a butterfly in the sky. He can go twice as high.
Love Is Blind: After the Altar (Netflix, 3 a.m.): SEASON ONE. A three-part reunion series. It is not about the receptions.

Tattoo Redo (Netflix, 3 a.m.): SEASON ONE. Covering up unwanted tattoos with new ones.
⭐ Turner & Hooch (Disney+, 3 a.m.): The episode title is "A Good Day to Dog Hard." It most likely builds on Turner and Hooch joining K9 and Turner starting to dig a bit into the unfinished crime case his dad was uncovering when he died.
