We've talked a lot about police actions. But when it comes to LGBTQetc. people of color the problem is often in police inaction. When my friends started disappearing the police ignored the pleas of family and friends for help finding them. They were black and gay so they must have run off with some guy. If the police had bothered to look for Eddie or Tony maybe Dahmer might not have had so many victims.
The family of Mikayla Miller was told by police that she had killed herself and that they shouldn't talk to the press because her sexual orientation would become known. Her family is pushing for an independent investigation because the police are doing nothing to find her killer. Nothing has changed. [Vox]
