Occasional cooks: annoying recipes and bakeware tips

Here is your weekly thread to talk anything and everything food.

Share your cooking this week, ask for tips or recipes for a dish, tell us about your meals out.

Have you ever read a recipe that looked interesting, but then been so annoyed by the way it was written that you got turned off?

This sausage and apple bake was looking pretty good, but then I got to the last step, and it said to "add a pinch of black pepper from a height".

I'm not the goddamn Salt Bae, and I will not be adding my seasonings from a height. Is this really a thing?

Surprise, surprise, it's a Jamie Oliver recipe, so a little bit of down-home pretension should have been expected.

To counteract my opening grumpiness, here's a good article about whether you should bake in metal, glass or ceramics. And it's actually from the Washington Post, so all the brands mentioned will actually be available to you, thanks Australian website! At least the linked recipes are all local (damn it, the grumpiness returned).

Looking at these delicious baked peaches with polenta and almond crumble is helping my mood.
